This log records material corrections to pages on cs.legal. It is maintained under our editorial policy and sits alongside the review line and review date shown on each page. The log starts with the corrections made during the October 2026 content remediation; corrections made before that period are included only where the firm’s internal records document them.
What is logged: a correction that changes the meaning of a page, including a wrong legal proposition, a wrong date, a wrong attribution, a wrong identity or materially misleading metadata. What is not logged: spelling and formatting fixes that do not change meaning, and routine re-checks that confirm the page is still accurate. Each entry states the date, the page affected and what changed. Reporting a correction is described at the foot of this page.
Corrections recorded
| Date | Page | What changed |
|---|---|---|
| 25 October 2026 | Contract law practice page and two limitation guides | The limitation period for tort claims was stated as six years. Corrected to three years under section 4(2) of the Limitation of Actions Act (Cap 22), with the statutory reference linked. |
| 25 October 2026 | Contract law practice page | Text stating that a contract executed under seal carried a twelve-year limitation period was replaced. Cap 22 creates no separate twelve-year period for deeds; the ordinary six-year contract period applies. |
| 25 October 2026 | Contract and public-law guides | The statement that claims against Government required twelve months’ notice was replaced. Notice under the Government Proceedings Act (Cap 40) is a separate requirement from the limitation period and depends on the claim. |
| 25 October 2026 | Arbitration practice page, homepage and arbitration guides | References that described KIAC as the Kenya International Arbitration Centre were corrected. KIAC is the Kigali International Arbitration Centre; Kenya’s institution is the Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration (NCIA). |
| 25 October 2026 | 229 published articles | Pages carried publication dates earlier than their true publication date. The pages were re-dated to their true dates, and the publishing policy now separates the publication date from the review date. |
| 25 October 2026 | 91 published articles | The article-level statement that the content is general information and not legal advice was missing. It was added to the pages that lacked it. |
| 25 October 2026 | Mediation guides | 23 mediation article bodies had damaged text. The text was restored from the source files. |
| 26 October 2026 | Contract Claims in Kenya: Limitation Periods | The page published firm boilerplate as its meta description, social description and structured-data description. It now carries a description specific to the article. |
| 26 October 2026 | Judicial review guide, movable property security guide, MWONGOZO guide and sectional properties guide | Descriptions were truncated mid-word in the meta tag and cut at 160 characters without an ellipsis in the structured data. Each description was rewritten to fit the limit. |
| 26 October 2026 | Arbitration vs Litigation in Kenya and related arbitration guides | Wording that implied NCIA and KIAC were default forums was corrected. The arbitration clause selects the forum; both institutions are optional. |
| 26 October 2026 | Article headers across the site | The header line could read as if the author, rather than the named reviewer, had reviewed the page. The author is now labelled separately, so the header, the footer review line and the structured data agree. |
| 26 October 2026 | Nine meta descriptions | Descriptions containing em dashes were rewritten with commas and full stops, consistent with the site’s house style. |
| 26 October 2026 | Six article pages | A byte order mark was present at the start of four article bodies and in two related-article excerpts. It was removed. |
| 26 October 2026 | Homepage and partner sections | The homepage described transparent fee structures and coverage of all 47 counties. Neither claim was substantiated on the site. Both were replaced with factual wording, and the fees and engagement page now explains the basis of charging. |
| 26 October 2026 | Partner portraits | The site displayed two computer-generated portraits in place of photographs of the partners. Those images were removed. Firm-supplied photographs are now published on the homepage, the About page and the partner pages, and no generated face is used anywhere on the site. |
| 26 October 2026 | Fifteen article pages | Structured-data modification dates were earlier than the publication dates. The modified dates were corrected so that an update no longer appears to precede publication. |
How a correction is made
- The correction is checked against the primary source before anything is changed.
- The page is updated and its review date moves to the date of the correction.
- Where the error could affect a reader’s decision, a dated correction note is added to the page as well as to this log.
- An entry is added here with the date, the page and what changed. Where the correction affects several pages, they are listed together.
